Welcome to the Beachin dog therapy and pleasure pool
Beachin Dog Therapy pool is a 24' x 16' heated hydrotherapy pool for dogs, purpose built in 1998.Still the only pool of this size in Cheshire. Enabling dogs to swim free and enjoy the space.
Housed in a centrally heated log building, it provides a safe and clean environment in which to swim your dog.
Hydrotherapy is a weight free and low impact form of exercise beneficial in treating a wide range of conditions in dogs of all ages including:-
- Arthritis
- Soft tissue injuries and strains
- Hip and elbow dysplasia
- Pre and post surgery conditioning
- Weight loss and general fitness
- Or just for fun
All dogs must be health checked by their veterinary surgeon or specialist prior to swimming. They will be responsible for monitoring your dog's progress after a number of sessions.
Where major surgery has been undertaken or your veterinary surgeon feels it appropriate, we can arrange for an experienced physiotherapist to make an appointment with your veterinary surgeon and jointly asses your dogs needs with you. They would also be present at the pool for the initial session and further sessions if necessary.
Beachin dog therapy pool has a close association with Equine and Canine Solutions a firm of experienced chartered physiotherapists with considerable knowledge of hydrotherapy and who visit a number of pools in the north west. They will only become involved at your request.
Buoyancy aids and lines are used on all new and nervous dogs. In the case of smaller breeds they will initially be accompanied into the pool if they have not swum previously.
Sessions last 30 minutes with each dog receiving exclusive supervised use of the pool.
Drying facilities are available free of charge. Please bring a towel for drying round the face and ears.
The pool is open 6 days a week (closed Mondays) from 9am until 7pm.
Please telephone for an appointment, due to the number of dogs using the pool sessions start and finish promptly at the pre booked time. Regrettably late arrivals will lose part of their half hour if there is a dog following.
Owners are involved and should be prepared to get wet! Clean wellingtons and waterproof over trousers are recommended if you have them.
